Each Applied Materials annual report was a dynamic balance of cutting-edge technology, an innovative workforce, and a global business strategy. For example, 2001’s report tackled getting technology to “the next billion people”. Large themes with ambitious goals, illustrated through editorial photography and reinforced with strong information graphics, position Applied as a global leader. In addition to many years of annual reports, the AKA creative team created many additional projects — for example, a suite of specific technical and overview pieces, color coded for easy differentiation; and a corporate ethics guide using french fold binding and duotone imagery against words like “honesty” and “integrity” to soften the dense copy.
